What I liked about the book?
The book takes us back to the glorious era of the 90s - the music, the books, and the warmth. Being born in the 90s, I could relate to almost everything the book talks about. The book is entirely different from the usual genre currently in the market. The book is a musical novel and lists the most popular songs of the 90s. The author also talks about the neuroscience behind the feelings we feel after we listen to a particular kind of music. The author writes in a simple language that is easily understandable. The conversations in the book are written as I would generally text people. The book served information as well. The book has a story, conversations, love, heartbreak, music, knowledge and incorporates it beautifully to make it a delightful read.
What I did not like about the book?
The first half of the book seems a bit stretched because every message in the conversation explains every song in depth. At times the neuroscience information and conversation went on for longer than expected.
Conclusion
The book is an excellent gift for friends from the 90s who can relate to it. After mentioning the things, I did not like about the book I must say that for people who don't know the songs even after being from the 90s era may enjoy the description to know the meaning behind the song. If you are from the 90s and are looking for a relaxing read that is altogether different from the standard genre, then this is the book for you!
