Genre: Thriller

"...To save those whom I care about, I have to become that man I left behind..."

The Plot

Sniper's EYE revolves around Aaditya Ghosh, who is a lovable protagonist. He is someone always wanting to stand by what is right. He works in a corporate firm and hates to work from a cubicle, and there is a reason why! He is running away from a past that could not be revealed for the sake of his new beginnings.
Aaditya finds himself at peace in the arms of Zoya, who is his love interest. Everything works fine for him until a shooting in the middle of a mall where a person is shot right in front of him. The story unfolds with him getting into some trouble with everything that happens. (You have to read to know more about the hows and whys).
That one killing is followed by multiple other murders that set Mumbai on a red alert. All these killings are made to fulfill a set agenda.
Aaditya finds himself trapped in the routine and realizes it is too late to back out and hence gives in. He tries to lure the people responsible for the killings into a trap, but things go haywire.
Does everything works out for him? Who are the people behind the killings? Will there be justice or compromises?
The book answers it all!

What I liked about the book

The writer does a great job is designing the plot and developing the characters. The scenes are properly given shape before anything is executed to make sure the reader gets a proper view. Everything is not black and white but represented in shades of grey. The characters seem genuine and not made up. The story progresses at a steady pace that is easy to keep up with. The language in the book is simple and easy to understand. Aaditya is the main character, but every other character like Zoya, Ravi, Aman, etc. are given their time to understand their importance in the plot. The plot of political tension and debacle between India and Pakistan is carefully curated to give the book an edge.

What I did not like about the book

There is nothing that I did not like in the book in particular, but I feel the book could have been made stronger at places. The continuous reference to Aaditya having a dark past could have been avoided. The plot could have been handled a bit better in the end.

Conclusion

To me, the book is a fantastic effort and nothing I can pinpoint as such that I didn't like. There is always a room for the possibility for amazingly written books, but I do feel that the book did justice to the genre. It deserves a chance to be read by people who like to read crime and thrillers.
