Review

Music is and will be my first love. I am emotionally inclined to anything music related just like this book. Though this book isn't actually based on music, it is based on the characters who are in love with music.

Tulip, a music lover, is suppressed by the super disciplined parents and is always made to put her studies first. Raised by a wealthy family in which her parents can hardly make time for her but are still very particular with how she should live her life, Tulip still turns out to be an obedient child. If I would have been at her place, I don't even know how I would have turned out!
When she gets a chance to fulfill her dreams, Tulip soon realizes that dreams come with a price. It is an actual fact, dreams come with a lot of responsibility, and she realizes that nothing is going to be the same if she agrees to take this responsibility.

Meeting with Sam, a young, carefree individual, gives Tulip new hope. This aspect of teen life of finding confidence in someone else, who sees strength in you is a great thing to witness in the book. The book is primarily written around the course of a reality TV show named- "Voice Mates" and the under the cover things that happen there, the plot doesn't touch all the glory details but enough to serve the plot. The credit for the research of the same is well deserved by the author.
The experiences and the different phases of struggle they both undergo are penned down really well by the author.

Infatuation, trust, hard work, belief, confidence, faith, love for music, support, friendship, etc. can be seen throughout the book.
The book is simple and doesn't take a risk, and there is nothing wrong with it. It goes on with the same flow and doesn't transcend to anything more challenging.
It is a good read for a lazy evening.
The book quickly brushes off some fundamental aspects or plot points that were introduced as something that would bring excitement to the story.

Overall, the characters though not layered but are consistent throughout the book. It suffices for a one time quick read. It could have been better if the plot was handled in a bit better way and detailed explaining would have been done at required points.
